Born in Rio Grande do Sul, registered with a Greek name and baptized with water from the Amazon River, Pítia has always had a mix of cultures present in her life. She has lived all over Brazil, and today she is a Canadian resident with her family. A scientist by training, she loves exploring places and meeting people. Perhaps one day she will put down roots and settle down in some corner of this big world of ours.
Graduated in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Minas Gerais 17 years ago, an immigrant for 10. She never had solid ground: a gaucho from the Serra region, where grapes are planted and harvested, she moved to Minas Gerais when she was 7 years old. She lost her accent but not her roots that constantly clashed with the surrounding culture. As if by parachute, she temporarily fell into Canada, Washington, DC and even Japan but landed and made a nest in a corner of the United States, where she makes friends and harvests life.
